CROSSROADS CHURCH was born out of a vision to start a bi-lingual church on the north central side of San Antonio in late 2000/early 2001. The uniqueness of this call was there was already a building yet no congregation. Grace Wesleyan had closed its doors around ten years prior and the building had been rented to a small Christian group during this time. As this group moved on, The Wesleyan Church (an evangelical Christian denomination) decided it was time to restart the church, or sell the property.
As with many of our journeys in life, one connection led to another, and Pastor Bob Ellis and his wife Arlynn were invited to come and start a new church. After accepting the call to move from Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he had been serving as church planter and founding pastor of an Hispanic Church plant, Bob and Arlynn began the process of understanding the community and gathering a core group to start the church.
We now have a campus in New Braunfels, Texas both in English and Spanish.
We believe that this is just the beginning of what we have been praying for, to become a church planting movement here in South Texas.
Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:37-38 (NIV).
